This new board from Asus will create major competition for Raspberry Pi, Banana Pi, etc.!
The Asus Tinker Board not only has the same form factor as the Raspberry Pi, but also puts all of the connections in the same place.
In terms of technology, however, this mini computer has much more to offer: 2 GB RAM, a Rockchip RK3288 CPU with 4x 1.80 GHz and an ARM Mali T764 MP2 GPU. For the 4K/UHD video and 192 kHz/24-bit audio there is an HDMI 2.0 output, which provides a decoder for HEVC/H.265 videos through the Rockchip RK3288.
In addition to the Gigabit Ethernet port, which is connected directly to the processor, WLAN 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 ensure reliable communication.
The board also features 4 USB 2.0 ports, CSI and DSI ports, one microSD card slot, and a headphone socket. In addition, the single-board computer is equipped with one PCM/I2S output, 28 GPIO, 2 SPI, 2 I2C, 4 UART and 2 PWM ports, as well as voltage sources for 5V, 3.3V and ground (GND), just like the Raspberry Pi.
On the software side, the board supports Debian OS with the Kodi Media Center.
